Top 3 Unique Original Mockumentary Films

Mockumentaries are great fun to watch. These films contain the best elements of documentary style mixed with fiction. There are a lot of great mockumentaries out there but I thought I would pick three that I recently watched that were pretty good. They might not be the greatest movies ever but I thought they had a very unique style and original storyline. I'll list three of the top unique, original mockumentary films I have recently watched. I'll also include the url of the review that I wrote for each of these films. Be sure to check out the reviews to get a better idea if these films are right for you.

Ever Since The World Ended

"Ever Since The World Ended" is easily my favorite of the three very unique mockumentaries I am listing in this post. The movie is shot documentary / mockumentary style. The world has nearly been wiped out by a pandemic but some surviors are spared by the disease. The movie is set some ten years after the pandemic. Have you seen this film before? Troll Hunter

I had seriously thought of putting this film in the third position instead of the second but the concept of the film is so unique I couldn't help but bump it up a notch to #2. "Troll Hunter" is a film set in modern times. This is not "The Hobbit" The government has a department set up strictly to hunt trolls. You heard that right, the government hunts trolls. Of course, this film is fiction but the mockumentary style makes it feel more real in spite of its out on a limb topic. If you like sci fi films or films you simply can not see in the movie theater everyday, then "Troll Hunter" might be something you would like to watch. I liked it, but will you? Interview With an Assassin

Set in modern times a news cameraman stumbles upon a man who claims to be one of John F Kennedy's assassins. Raymond Barry is downright convincing and creepy in this very convincingly shot mockumentary. Of course the film is fiction but the mockumentary style even had me questioning the Kennedy murder. This is my first Best Reviewer post and it was a lot of fun to write. If you know of other highly creative, not before seen mockumentary style films feel free to comment. These three stick out most in my mind but I'm sure I'll post more great films in due time. I've been contemplating another mockumentary I recently.It is alternative history piece what-if piece about what the world would be like if the South had won the US Civil War. I'm not sure I would put it in the top three but it was very interesting. Thanks for reading!
